The Dolphin Prince

Once upon a time there was a princess who had a beautiful doll. It was like a ball.

One hot day the princess went near the sea to play with her doll. She threw the doll up into the air and put out her hands to catch it. But when she threw the doll again, it went up ... and up ... and up ... and then down ... down ... down ... SPLASH! It fell into the sea.

"Oh no!"said the princess. "My beautiful doll!"
She ran over to the sea but she could not see the doll. The sea was very very big.

The princess was so unhappy that she cried, cried, cried, cried, and cried.
Just then someone called out to her, "What is it, princess? Why are you crying?"

The princess looked up and saw a dolphin. "My beautiful doll is in the sea," said the princess. "Please help me."

"If I find it for you," said the dolphin, "will you play with me?"
"Yes," said the princess, "I will."

So the dolphin swam down into the sea. When he came up again he had the doll in his mouth. "Oh, thank you, thank you," said the princess.

"Now will you play with me?" asked the dolphin.

The princess looked at the dolphin. She didn't like his long beak or the big body. She didn't want to play with this big fat dolphin.
